Making the frontier of human health accessible.

Biohackers@Berkeley is a student-run social club connecting curious Berkeley students to the founders, researchers, and builders working on longevity and health tech across the Bay.

Open to every major. No lab experience needed.

  • Longevity
  • Sleep
  • Wearables
  • Metabolic health
  • Gene therapy
  • Neurotech
  • Diagnostics

The Bay is building the future of health. Students should be in the room.

Most of the interesting work in longevity and human performance is happening 15 miles away, in SF startups, research institutes, and late-night group chats. Most students never get access to it.

That's the gap we're closing: bringing operators and researchers to campus, heading into the city together for events, and hosting conversations where a sophomore and a founder can argue about rapamycin at the same table.

We are a social club first. You don't need to be pre-med, in a lab, or already "into" biohacking. You need to be curious about how the body works and how it could work better.

Access

Small-room talks and Q&As with people building the field, from wearables to cellular reprogramming.

Community

Dinners, walks, and socials with students across majors who care about health, science, and building things.

Literacy

Conversations that separate what the evidence supports from what the internet claims.

What we're planning.

Five formats. Dates go on the calendar as they're confirmed.

  • Frontier Talks

    On campus

Founders, researchers, and clinicians on what they're working on, what's overhyped, and what's coming next, followed by open Q&A.

  • SF Field Trips

    Across the Bay

Group trips to meetups, lab and startup visits, and longevity events in the city. We go together so nobody walks in alone.

  • Salons & Dinners

    Small group

Discussion-led gatherings around one question. Sleep, fasting, aging clocks, the ethics of enhancement.

  • Demo Nights

    On campus

Students and startups show what they're building, from wearables to diagnostics, then take questions from the room.

  • Hangouts

    Around the Bay

Hikes, sauna trips and cold plunges, skincare parties. Low-key ways to get to know the community outside a talk.

Questions.

Something not covered here? DM us on Instagram at @biohackersatberkeley.

Do I need a science background?

No. The club is open to every major: bioengineering, CS, business, econ, public health, and fields with nothing to do with any of those. Curiosity is the only requirement.

Is this a research or lab club?

No. We're a social club. We don't run experiments on people, sell supplements, or give health advice. We bring people together to learn about the field and meet the people in it.

How do I join?

Fill out the interest form, follow us on Instagram, and come to an event on the calendar.

Where do events happen?

Some on campus in Berkeley, some in San Francisco and around the Bay. Each event's location is listed on the calendar.

Come find your people.

Tell us what you're curious about and how you'd like to get involved. It takes about two minutes.
