Terms of Service

Effective November 5, 2026

Biohackers@Berkeley is a student-run group acting independently of the University of California. The University is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the club, this website, or club events.

Agreement

These terms apply when you use this website, join our mailing list, or attend a Biohackers@Berkeley event. By doing any of those things you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or attend.

Who runs the club

The club is organized and run entirely by students. Officers volunteer their time and are not employees or agents of the University of California. Nothing on this site should be read as a statement by, or on behalf of, UC Berkeley.

Not medical advice

Biohacking and longevity topics often touch on health. Everything on this site, in our emails, and at our events, including talks, discussions, demos, and hangouts, is for education and conversation only. It is not medical, nutritional, psychological, or legal advice, and it does not create a clinician-patient relationship with anyone.

Do not start, stop, or change any supplement, medication, diet, device, or protocol based on something you heard through the club. Talk to a licensed healthcare provider first. You are responsible for your own health decisions.

The club does not run experiments on members, administer substances, or sell or distribute supplements or health products.

Speakers, sponsors, and partners

Speakers, guests, sponsors, and partners participate in their own capacity. Their statements, products, and services are their own and do not represent the views of Biohackers@Berkeley, UC Berkeley, or the University of California. Hosting a speaker or accepting sponsorship is not an endorsement, and the University does not endorse any sponsor or speaker. If you buy from or work with a sponsor, that relationship is between you and them.

Event conduct

We want events to be welcoming to everyone. When you attend, you agree to:

  • Treat attendees, speakers, venue staff, and officers with respect. Harassment and discrimination are not tolerated.
  • Not bring, sell, distribute, or encourage the use of illegal substances or unapproved drugs at club events.
  • Not pitch products, collect attendee data, or record talks for commercial use without the club's and speaker's permission.
  • Follow venue rules and, for on-campus events, applicable UC Berkeley student conduct policies.

Officers may ask anyone who violates these rules to leave and may bar them from future events.

Participation and risk

Attending events, including off-campus trips to San Francisco or elsewhere, is voluntary. You are responsible for your own transportation, belongings, and safety unless we say otherwise in writing. Some activities, such as hikes, sauna sessions, cold plunges, skincare products, fitness sessions, or hands-on demos, may carry physical risk. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or have allergies or sensitive skin, check with a clinician first. Participate only if you are comfortable doing so, and stop at any time. We may ask you to sign a separate waiver for certain activities.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the club and its officers are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from your attendance or participation, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Photos and recordings

Events may be photographed or recorded. By attending, you allow the club to use images in which you appear on this site and our social channels, for non-commercial club purposes. To opt out, tell an officer at the event or message us on Instagram. See our Privacy Policy.

Website content

Text, design, and club-made images on this site belong to Biohackers@Berkeley or the people who created them. You may share links and short excerpts with credit. Sponsor and partner logos belong to their owners. University names and marks belong to the Regents of the University of California, and their mention here does not indicate endorsement.

We try to keep information accurate, but the site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Event details can change, so check the calendar or your RSVP confirmation.

Links to other sites

We link to event platforms, sponsors, speakers, and other resources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site or attend events after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
